Columbia Horse Center offers a variety of camps for all ages. Our camps are designed to give our students horsemanship skills that they would not normally learn in a regular lesson plan. Students will be given the opportunity to enhance their knowledge on daily barn activities as well as routine horse care. Below is a list of the different camps offered at Columbia Horse Center: Students from ages 5-16 attend our "1-day" camps and ride 2 times a day as well as help with barn duties such as: feeding, turnout, treatments, and grooming. The "1-day" camps are scheduled during the school year and coincide with the Howard County School System. Open to CHC Students. Days will be posted in our barn office. Cost: $85.00 Times: 9:00 - 4:00 (Before & after care available for an additional fee.) Winter Break & Spring Break Camps Our Students ranging in ages 5-16 can attend our "1-week" camps offered during the Winter and Spring Breaks of the Howard County School System. Students ride 2 times a day as well as help with barn duties such as: feeding, turnout, treatments, and grooming. Informational lectures are also included, such topics are: show prep, cleaning tack, horse care, and many more. Open to CHC Students as well as non-students. Spring Break Camp Date: 3/17/08 - 3/21/08 Cost: $395.00 (Hours 9:00 - 4:00) B/A CARE: $55.00 (Hours 8:00 - 6:00) Winter Break Camp Dates: TBA for 2008 Cost: TBA for 2008 Horsemanship Summer Camp Students ages 8-16 are introduced to the world of horses through a series of twice daily riding lessons, plus hands-on workshops, trail rides, game days on horseback, drill teams, crafts and games and an educational series of lectures designed to teach them everything from the history of the horse to proper first aid, tacking and grooming. Our days are filled with fun. Open to CHC Students as well as non-students. For Information: Click Here Pony Pal Summer Camp Students ages 5-7 are introduced to a world of horses through riding lessons as well as games on horseback, western riding, bareback riding, trail rides, and a mock show. The day is filled with activities such as crafts and related arts. The atmosphere is relaxed, fun, and safe. Open to CHC Students as well as non-students. For more information: Click Here Event Camp Students with riding experience higher then C/A2+ have the opportunity to ride with Javier Corridini and learn all about Eventing. Sessions are split into: Dressage, Cross-country, and Show Jumping. Expect intense riding lessons with lots of fun and excitement. Sessions are packed with educational information for the rider wanting to take it to the next level. Camps are scheduled throughout the summer break. Dates: TBA Cost: TBA Adult Camp Periodically throughout the year, Columbia Horse Center schedules a series of nights for our adults to enhance their horsemanship skills through lectures, demonstrations, and lots of riding. Students will learn basic horse care, show prep, and much more while having fun and socializing with each other. The atmosphere is always relaxed and safe.
