EQUITATION/JUMPER Saturday 1/30/10 & 2/27/10 Bill grew up on a farm in Idaho and started riding western at the age of five, competing in high school rodeos and doing plenty of serious cow work. He stopped riding during his college years and didn’t resume again until his 40’s. Starting back up with his d aughters, learning hunt seat, Bill owned 6 horses and traveled to numerous shows, continuing his training with different instructors. After purchasing land and building Bluff Park Farm, he then volunteered as chef d’equipe and trainer for Zone 12’s Young Riders team (now North American Junior-Young Riders Championship). Bill began training & instructing full-time in 1995 as well as conducting clinics for local organizations such as 4-H and Pony Club. He continues to organize Zone 12’s Annual Young Riders Benefit Clinic, which began in 1993 with Olympic silver medalist Greg Best (riding Gem Twist). Bill managed the Valley Circuit horse shows for several years, served as an ASH board member and president, and most recently has been Zone 12’s co-chair in charge of jumpers. |
