Columbia Horse Center offers safe, obedient horses that are well-trained in Dressage, Hunters, Jumpers, and Eventing. Many have experience showing, going on trails, or simply being a pleasure ride. Members can ride a different horse each time or choose the same horse if it is available. The Equi-Lease Program is unique in that it has a lot of flexibility with the horses. Most "Lease" Programs only offer 1 horse. If that horse loses a shoe, the rider is out of luck. At Columbia Horse Center, the rider simply gets another horse to ride. It's that simple.
One of the most rewarding parts of The Equi-Lease Program is the time allowed with the horses. In a normal lesson atmosphere, you ride and leave. There is no additional time to spend with the horses. But, when you become part of the Equi-Lease family, you have the unique experience of being able to visit with the horses outside of the ring: grazing, bathing, and just spending a little bit of "TLC" time with them. The horses in the program feel as if they have the same group of friends always visiting and giving treats. They have become not only our teachers, but our friends. The Equi-Lease Program builds lasting friendships between the riders as well as our loyal equines.
Pictured below are our beloved riding partners. Each horse was hand picked to be in the program. Temperament, athletic ability, and level of training are all important factors for deciding who would be considered an "Equi-Lease Horse". Each and every horse has something to offer and has proven to be a wonderful addition to the program.
| Debonnaire
Level 1 Debonnaire is one of the sweetest, most laid back horses at the barn. He has a loping quality and is a veteran on the trails. He is wonderful for pleasure riding, field work, and even western. He is "Flat Only". Debonnaire will always take care of his riders.
|  | Dutch
Level 3 Dutch is our "School Master" at the barn. He knows his stuff. He also happens to be the largest horse in the lesson program and proudly reminds everyone. He can be a challenge for rider's in other disciplines, but always enjoys and respects a dressage rider. Dutch has so much to offer riders that are interested in dressage.
| | Handsome
Level 2 Handsome is a sweet natured gelding that loves people. He is wonderful for pleasure riding and dressage. He is "Flat Only" and is eager on the trails. His canter is one of the smoothest to sit. Handsome is very willing under saddle and has great ground manners.

| Houston
Level 4 Houston is a big mover with a sweet disposition and has come a long way since he has been at Columbia. He is a bit lazy, but willing. He is an easy going Thoroughbred that shows in the hunter ring at 2'3", has competed in 1st level dressage, trailrides. Houston has become a pro, bringing in lots of blue.

Level 4 Leo is our newest addition to the family. He has quickly made friends with everyone in the barn. He has a wonderful disposition and great ground manners. He shows thru 1st level dressage and is a steady trail horse. He will also be ready to go into the hunter ring this fall. We are delighted to have Leo join our herd.

| Limerick
Level 3 Limerick has become a favorite among the Equi-Lease Members. With his great ground manners, athletic ability , and sweet disposition, he has worked his way into the hearts of everyone. A level headed Thoroughbred, he has placed well in 1st level dressage, and has competed in the Hunter ring, home & away. Limerick has become a staple of the Equi-Lease Program

| Penny
Level 2 Penny is a beautiful horse that loves to please her rider. She has competed successfully in dressage, hunters, jumpers, and eventing. Penny also trail rides, enjoys pleasure riding, and teaches the most beginner students as well as the more advanced riders. She is always looking for a treat and has wonderful ground manners.

| Stella
Level 2 Stella is a steady mare that wants to please her rider. She has beautiful transitions with smooth gaits, is very willing, and is wonderful for confidence building. She eagerly jumps 2', loves the trails, is great for pleasure riding, and lower level dressage. Stella is a well-rounded horse with a sweet temperament.

| Tessa
Level 3 Tessa is the matriarch at the barn. She is a power house over jumps and is bored during the flat. She knows dressage, but prefers jumping, trail-riding, and cross-country. She can be a bit marish on the ground, but brings home the blue at every show. Tessa needs a confident rider and is the best teacher in the barn.
